A blinking charger indicates that an issue has been detected with either the board or the charger. If this occurs, we recommend that you disconnect the charger from your board. Depending on the color and when it occurs, it can help us diagnose what the problem is and get you back to riding quicker.
If the charger is blinking when it is plugged into a wall outlet and is not connected to the board, it indicates an issue with the charger itself. If the charger is plugged into a non-standard outlet like a portable power supply that is not powerful enough or an outlet that is not properly wired, we recommend checking this again in an outlet you are sure is fully functional. You should also inspect that the cable that connects the charger brick to the wall is securely connected prior to plugging the charger in.
If the charger is still blinking when plugged into a good outlet, it indicates that the charger is malfunctioning and needs to be replaced. If the charger is still within a year of its purchase date it may still be eligible for warranty and we recommend you contact us and provide:
-
A video of the charger being plugged into the wall and blinking
-
Proof of purchase (receipt from an authorized retailer or Onewheel Order number)
-
Full shipping address
We can receive the charger and inspect it to make sure it has not been modified and if under warranty, ship you a new charger of the same type free of cost. If the charger falls out of our warranty policy, we will inform you and can return the old charger for the cost of shipping. If you know your charger is not covered under warranty, we recommend you purchase one for Onewheel Pint or Onewheel+ XR.
If the charger is blinking only when plugged into the board, it may indicate a problem with the board itself. If the board is able to be powered on when not plugged in to the charger, we recommend sending a diagnostic by following the instructions below.
- Connect to the app with a smart device and connect to you your Onewheel
- Once connected click the gear in the top left corner and select "Diagnostics"
- When you scroll to the bottom of the page, you will see a banner reading "SEND DIAGNOSTICS".
- Please tap the banner and it will give you an option to comment on the diagnostics.
- Please comment with your full name and email address.
After sending diagnostics, please contact us and provide:
-
A video of the charger being plugged into the board and blinking
-
Proof of purchase (receipt from an authorized retailer or Onewheel Order number)
-
Full shipping address
-
The board’s 10-digit serial number (found underneath the rails)
Please note: If you have access to another charger, please try it. If the problem persists, we will likely need the board to come into our repair shop with the charger.
