Rail guards are a great way to customize your board and add an extra layer of protection to avoid scratching or damaging your board. Similar to a screen protector, rail guards will ship with a covered adhesive backing (red) and a clear plastic sheet over the outside part of the rail guard itself. If you receive your rail guards and they already look scratched, check to verify that the plastic sheet is still there to absorb those scratches because we want you to decide when to peel off that first layer and start using your rail guards! When removing the red backing to expose the adhesive, make sure the guards are not hot to ensure good adhesion.
After peeling off the red backing exposing the adhesive part, to ensure the correct installation make sure the charging port and axle bolts holes on the rail guards match up with the corresponding parts. Also, make sure the rail guard is perfectly straight to allow the top portion of the rail guard to lie flat.
This top portion may appear like it won't when installing without the adhesive, but rest assured when the adhesive is exposed and the top portion is smoothed out working from the outer edges to the middle of the board, the top section will snap flat into place.
Here is an instructional video that will walk you through the installation: How to Install Rail Guards
