If you are planning to not ride for an extended period of time, there are a few things we would recommend you do for your board to ensure the longevity of the battery:
First whenever you are storing your board for an extended period of time, ensure the battery remains between 40-50% and check this monthly. Never keep the board stored at 0% or 100% for a long time. If your board seems to be having issues with range, we recommend charging your board to 100%. This will essentially recalibrate the board's battery and help to keep the cells balanced. Just make sure you don't store the board with 100%, as stated above.
Second, if you ride in any moist environment make sure you wipe your board off fully after and get all debris off and let it fully dry out before charging. The board is not waterproof, but water-resistant. Ride into moisture environments at your own risk.
Third, store your board at mild temperatures. Never leave your board in extreme cold or heat for prolonged periods of time.
All of these will help keep your battery and Onewheel in good health long term!
