It is possible to overpower pushback if the rider's full weight is on the front footpad. In order to avoid this, we recommend having your weight centered over the tire at all times and then using your legs to push down on the front footpad in order to accelerate the board. Too often new riders who are excited to get on and ride quickly might be too tense and have their weight distributed over the front and push through pushback without realizing it.
Try a different shaping mode like Sequoia (XR) or Redwood (Pint and Pint X) or Roam (GT) which have a lower top speed causing pushback to happen earlier and is easier to feel. Doing this will give you a more noticeable pushback, this way you can get the feel of pushback and how to slow the board down when this occurs. Once you get a feel for it, try again in a more aggressive Digital Shaping if you want and you might notice you can feel it when you could not before.
